Travel Tip of the Week: Oakley’s View

Hi.  I’m Oakley.  Yeah, I know.  I’m cute.  Cuddly.  Adorable.  What’s not to love?

The cool thing about being me is Glory takes me with her as she travels around.  I haven’t graduated to airplanes yet, but if we can take the car, I’m in, baby.

Only problem is, a lot of hotels won’t let me stay overnight.  I know, can you believe it?  Rock stars wielding axes can get a hotel room, no prob, but I get the boot.

Well, I’m happy to say a lot of hotels have changed their mind about letting the “Oakster” stay at their digs.

My current favorite is Best Western.  They even have a website for roaming Rovers like myself.  You can find it here:  http://www.bestwestern.com/tripplanner/travelwithpets.asp .

A few weeks ago, Glory took me to the Best Western in Bozeman, Montana. Gorgeous down comforters, flat screen television–it was sweet!  I met this hot pomeranian cruising the halls, but Glory kept me on a short leash.  Better luck next time, Fifi.

Anyway, I’m going to be popping in The Traveling Office from time to time, letting you know where you can take your pooch as you’re traveling around yourself.  I call my column “Oakley’s View.”

So, till next time, stay cool.  And if you see Fifi around, tell her she doesn’t know what she’s missing.

Hi Oakley! You’re right – you are very cute! I know it’s hard to believe that you wouldn’t be allowed to stay in a hotel – but you’re lucky you’re not bigger, because larger dogs have an even more difficult time! That’s why we started GoPetFriendly.com – you can find great deals on pet-friendly hotels and even see their detailed pet policies, so you’ll know about any additional charges before you book. GoPetFriendly.com is also great if you want to find a restaurant where you can go with Glory, or if you’re in the mood for a run on the beach, a romp in an off-leash dog park, or need a little retail therapy at a pet-friendly shopping center. We hope you’ll visit the site and that you continue to have fun traveling around!
